Gen Y Capital

In partnership with the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC), an organization made up of America’s top young entrepreneurs, Gen Y Capital Partners works as an early stage venture accelerator for Generation Y, by Generation Y. We intend to invest in early stage companies across multiple verticals. In addition to capital investment, we combine the benefits of Income Based Repayment (“IBR”), academic partnerships and a support network of the most successful young entrepreneurs in the country, to remove many of the barriers young entrepreneurs face in creating new businesses and jobs for themselves and their peers. Our goal is to create a new, scalable 360 degree approach to investing in our nation’s youth. Highlights of our strategy include:

  • Removal of federal student loan debt. We will utilize IBR as part of our business model. After founders subscribe to IBR, we will go a step further, paying founder’s federal student loan debt obligations for up to three years and enabling them to concentrate exclusively on their ventures during the crucial startup phase, rather than feel the need to seek out traditional employment.
  • Elimination of living expenses and access to education. We will offer select founders the opportunity to live on various college campuses across the US for up to two years. Collegiate partners will also provide access to their entrepreneurship education courses, faculty and interns.
  • Unparalleled access to peer-to-peer mentoring. We will offer founders access to hundreds of Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) members and mentors in multiple fields and disciplines nation-wide, as well as an opportunity to join the invite-only YEC.

We expect to invest in as many as 100 startups over the next 5 years and several hundred over the next decade. With the continued support of government reforms and academia, we expect to scale in the next 24 months, and will begin to roll out incubator programs on college campuses across the United States.
